Oct 10, 2014 · My mk4 mondeo 1.8 tdci has been having this problem on and off for the last 6 months or so. If I have more than a quarter tank of fuel in the car it gets very sluggish, juddery when driving. I have to very slowly bring the revs up to gain speed or it just judders badly. If i have less than a quarter tank of fuel it drives pretty much perfectly.

It is only the airbag control unit,when deployed,that activates the fuel cut supply.The fuel pump relay is in position 4 on the relay carrier marked 409.You can run a positive feed to fuse 28 and listen if the fuel pump runs. 0 0 0.
